First off, we have to say that heading out of the South Beach area and going downtown to the ever notorious Club Space, isn't always the best of endeavours. Depending on the night, the type of crowd there, and how many people have been dicks already to the doormen are just some of the factors that can make this night tedious. But on this night, our guestlist was honoured, a line up rarely existed even though the venue was very busy, and the staff were extremely hospitable and professional. Special thanks to Olga from Stealth and a gracious door staff @ Space for making this one of the smoothest and most pleasant experiences we’ve ever had in Miami! As for the event itself… Tom Stephan, Chus and Ceballos and Roger Sanchez wasted no time getting to business. Alternating every so often, each respectively took their turn whipping the dance floor into a frenzy. Of all the times we’ve seen Tom Stephan play (roughly 11) this was his finest effort. Laying it down thick with basslines and wrought with powerful hooks and pounding percussion, Stephan stole the main room show. Not to be outdone, Roger Sanchez waited till dawn to rock the terrace proper, much to the delight of the still eager Space crowd. Sometime around 10am in the morning we packed it in and left for the sanctity of the beach. With the drums still resonating through our brains, we brandished our favourite sunglasses and shifted the gears down under the comfort of the South Beach sun and the tranquility of the crashing waves. The conference truly is an enriching experience for the avid beat enthusiast. Luscious landscapes replete with simply the greatest music from around the entire world. Linked together through passion, love and an inexplicable urge to let loose on a dance floor, the WMC brings together like minded artists and devoted throngs of revellers through the devotion of music. If you have never been, it would be absolutely tragic to pass it up again. See you all next year!

It’s great when your star is in the ascendant, especially in that headiest of all heady worlds, the music business. That unbeatable adrenalin rush as your career seems to be on a permanent upward trajectory. Everyone loves you, everyone wants to be your friend. They slap you on the back (ouch, that hurt actually…), they want to be seen with you (hang on, your trousers reflect badly on me…), take drugs with you (just say no)... ::: Read the Interview
