::: Laidback Luke Interview
Holland’s beloved house music-loving homeboy, Laidback Luke, is on an international mission to rock clubs, win hearts and top charts. A producer and DJ with immense talent, tonnes of spirit and a steely determination to succeed, he has been on a worldwide search for the ultimate in dance floor energy since the mid-1990s. “Music is an amazing tool that can evoke powerful memories and emotions,” says Luke with a smile. “And I will not rest until I’ve given my best: I want to share as much music as possible with as many people as possible.” And with an incredibly impressive discography of 100+ recordings and a DJ diary that takes him from his studio near Amsterdam to clubs all over the world, it would seem that Luke is well on the way to achieve his goals...

::: Photo Album » WMC 2007 | 3.2 Blow Media @ Opium Garden [Miami]

Over the years I have come to love Opium Garden in Miami. The decadent main outdoor area complete with tikki huts for the DJ booth and a posh palace court feel is the perfect venue to enjoy a night of solid house music during the warm south Florida nights. This year's excursions include a few trips to this wondrous venue, the first being for Toronto's own Blow Media, headed by DJ/Producer Hatiras. Blow Media host this massive event in celebration of the label's success over the past year. With the likes of Kaskade, Starkillers, Dirty South, Richard Grey, Joachim Garraud, Fuzzy Hair, and Hatiras himself among countless other Blow Media artists headlining the bill, the packed crowd wrecked their feet dancing the night away under the stars of this gorgeous outdoor Miami venue. Despite some apparent venue issues, the boys pulled it off in fine form, and the clubbers lucky enough to attend never got a break, but that's just the way the wanted it... dirty house music all night long!

The Shapeshifters are London DJ and production duo Simon Marlin and Max Reich, also behind long running club night Nocturnal at AKA, London, the party hang of Nocturnal Groove – the boys’ and Lola Marlin’s record label.
